Glenouther Moor is located at the western end of a moorland plateau south of Glasgow and west of the M77 just south of Corsehouse Reservoir. The site is part of a commercial forestry plantation, typical of the surrounding plateau. Kilmarnock lies to the south of the site.
We are currently exploring a proposal for five wind turbines, each with a tip height of up to 200m. This refined layout reflects a design using fewer turbines while maintaining a similar generating capacity to wind farm proposals previously considered for the site.
Proposal of Application Notice and Scoping Report submitted to East Ayrshire Council in August 2025.
● Force 9 is committed to open and transparent communication with the local community. The first public exhibition was held in September 2025 and the second exhibition will take place on the 23rd and 24th of February in Stewarton and Fenwick, respectively. Visit the ‘Public Exhibition’ tab for more details.
Force 9’s development partner, Vestas, is committed to paying Community Benefit at the Scottish Government recommended rate: currently at a value equivalent to £5,000 per Mega Watt of installed capacity, for every year of operation (anticipated to be 30 years) to help fund community projects.
If constructed, Glenouther will offer opportunities for local businesses such as accommodation providers, hire companies, fencing contractors, tradespeople and machinery plant owners.
